Dear Parents and Families,
November is almost here, and we have many exciting events and opportunities coming up at Tzouanakis Intermediate School! As we move into the holiday season, we are thankful for our wonderful students, supportive families, and dedicated staff who make TZ such a special place to learn and grow.
Please take a few minutes to review our upcoming events and important reminders.
Thursday, November 5 – Picture Retakes
Picture Retake Day is scheduled for Thursday, November 5. Students who were absent on our original Picture Day or need a new picture will have the opportunity to participate.
Monday, November 9 – Midterm Grades Available
Midterm grades will be available for families to view in Skyward on Monday, November 9.
We encourage families to review their child's academic progress and reach out to teachers with any questions or concerns. Communication between home and school is an important part of helping students succeed!
Wednesday, November 11 – Veterans Day Celebration
We are honored to recognize the veterans who have served our country during our annual TZ Veterans Day celebration.
-
8:30 a.m. – Veterans Day Breakfast: Veterans who have signed up to attend will enjoy a light breakfast. Students will be invited to join their special veteran guests.
-
9:20 a.m. – Veterans Day Parade: We will continue our celebration by recognizing and honoring our veterans with a special parade.
We are looking forward to this meaningful opportunity to teach our students about service, sacrifice, and gratitude.
November 16–20 – Student Council Food Drive
Student Council is sponsoring a food drive for local food pantries. Non-perishable items will be accepted. They are also having classes compete to win a donut or popcorn party!
Thursday, November 19 – 5th Grade Field Trip to IRT
Our fifth-grade students will travel to the Indiana Repertory Theatre (IRT) for a special field trip. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to experience live theater and connect learning with the performing arts. Fifth-grade teachers will share additional details with families.
Wednesday–Friday, November 25–27 – Thanksgiving Break
There will be no school November 25–27 in observance of Thanksgiving Break. We hope all of our TZ families enjoy a safe, relaxing holiday filled with time together!
As we enter November, we want to express our appreciation for the partnership we share with our families. Your encouragement, communication, and support make a difference in the lives of our students every day.
We are proud of the learning, growth, and positive relationships happening throughout TZ.
Thank you for being part of our school community!
As always, please reach out to your child's teacher or our school office if you have
questions or need assistance.
Warmly,
Lisa Eldridge
