Parent/Family Update

Dear Parents/Families,

April is officially here, and with it comes a whirlwind of learning, celebration, and preparation. From state testing to our beloved "Puttin' on the Hits" show, there is so much to look forward to this month!

ILEARN Summative Testing
Our students have worked incredibly hard all year, and now it’s time for them to show off what they’ve learned! The ILEARN Online Testing Window for grades 3–8 runs from April 13 to May 8, 2026.

Quick Tips for Testing Success:
  • Rest & Fuel: Ensure students get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast on testing days.
  • Attendance Matters: Please try to avoid scheduling appointments during the morning testing sessions.
  • Stay Positive: A little encouragement goes a long way in helping students feel confident and relaxed!
Your child's teacher will be sharing specific testing dates.

"Puttin' on the Hits" (POTH)
Get ready for our most famous event of the year! Our Puttin' on the Hits lip-sync competition is a long-standing tradition where students become the stars of the stage.
  • Performance Details: Our school performance will take place on Friday, April 17. Look for a permission slip for this event at Parker Auditorium soon. We can't wait to see the creative costumes and choreography our students have been practicing!
  • Community Spirit: Public performances are Saturday, April 18 at 2 and 6 p.m.
This event is more than just a show—it’s a highlight for our community and supports our PTO.

April Field Trips
We have several exciting excursions planned to bring our curriculum to life!
  • Reminders: Please double-check your child’s folder for permission slips and specific lunch requirements for upcoming trips.
  • Chaperones: If you are volunteering, please ensure you bring your ID for processing a background check with the front office.

Planning for a Successful Year-End
As we look toward the finish line, we are already planning for a strong finish and a smooth transition into next year.
  • Final Projects: Students will be wrapping up major curriculum units this month.
  • Save the Date: Mark your calendars for our end-of-year celebrations.

Thank you for your continued partnership in making this a wonderful school year!

Warmly,
Lisa Eldridge, Principal
