Parent/Family Update

Dear Parents and Families,

October was a whirlwind of activity, and we’re so grateful for your continued support! As we look ahead to November, we’re excited to offer even more opportunities to connect with our school community and celebrate our students.

School Meals Continue
Breakfast in the classroom continues to be free for all students. Also, school meals are not affected by the temporary loss of SNAP benefits. We accept meal applicatoins anytime. Call the office if you need more information.

Clear Water Bottles
As previously mentioned, to help us maintain a secure campus and prevent disruptions, we request that all students bring clear, disposable or reusable plastic water bottles to school. These bottles must be sealable and should only contain water. We appreciate your help with this.

Picture Retakes – Thursday, November 6
Petit Photography will return to TZ the morning of Thursday, November 6 to photograph students who were absent on fall Picture Day. Retakes are also available upon parent request—please return your purchased photo package to initiate a retake.

Veteran’s Day Celebration – Friday, November 7 at 7:30 a.m.
We’re honored to welcome TZ family members who have served in the Armed Forces. Guests will enjoy a light breakfast followed by a parade through our school hallways. If you haven’t RSVP’d yet, please contact the school office.

Student Council Food Drive & Spirit Day – November 10–14
Our annual food drive runs Monday through Friday, November 10–14. Each day will spotlight a different food group, and items from that group will earn bonus points in our Grade Level Contest. Of course, all donations are welcome any day of the week!

To wrap up the week, Student Council is hosting a fun spirit day: Rhyme Without a Reason – Friday, November 14 Students are encouraged to team up and dress as a rhyming pair (e.g., a waiter and a skater). We can’t wait to see their creativity shine!

ILEARN Checkpoint 2 – November 17 through December 12
Teachers will begin scheduling Checkpoint 2 assessments to monitor student progress on Indiana Academic Standards. This testing window will remain open through Friday, December 12.

Choir Performance – Monday, November 24 at 6:30 p.m.
Mark your calendars! Our TZ choir will present their show, Together, We Are Better! on Monday, November 24 at 6:30 p.m. Stay tuned for more details as the date approaches.

Thanksgiving Break – November 26–28
We’ll close out the month with time to rest and recharge with loved ones. There will be no school Wednesday, November 26 through Friday, November 28. Classes will resume on Monday, December 1.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Fall/Halloween parties, Book Fair, and PTO fundraisers. Your partnership means the world to us, and we truly appreciate all the ways you support our students and school. Don't forget to set your clocks back on Sunday!

Warmly,
Lisa Eldridge, Principal
