Attendance, Bus Passes, and Q&A

Bus Passes
Please understand that changes should only be made in the event of an emergency. When requesting a bus pass for a student to ride another bus home, the following information is necessary. Please send a note to the office with your student or contact the office before 1:45 pm with the following:

  •  Where your child is going (friend's house, grandparents', etc.).
  •  The address of where your child is going.
  •  The bus number your child will be riding.

Attendance Policy

  • Parents must send their child to school unless the child is ill, there is a family emergency, or state law permits the reason.
  •  Students who are acutely ill should remain at home. Do not send your child to school if he/she has any of the following signs of illness.
  •  Students must be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school. A normal temperature must be maintained without the use of medicine such as Tylenol.
  •  Parents should call the school the morning their child is ill by 9:00 a.m. Also, if a student will have an extended absence, please notify the school.
  •  If you wish to pick up homework for your child, you must call the school before 9:00 a.m. to allow the teacher time to gather materials. Materials will be available in the office after 3:00 p.m.
  •  Excused absence means we are aware of the absence and it is excused. All absences, excused or unexcused, affect the student’s attendance. To receive an attendance award, a student must be present every minute of every day.

If a student arrives...

  • between 8:50 and 10:15 (Mon.) he/she will be counted as AM Tardy.
  • between 8:10 and 9:45 (Tues.-Fri.) he/she will be counted as AM Tardy.
  • between 10:15 and 11:30 (Mon.) he/she will be counted as Absent 1/2 Day-AM.
  • between 9:45 and 11:30 (Tues.-Fri.) he/she will be counted as Absent 1/2 Day-AM.

If a student leaves...

  • school early anytime after 1:25 he/she will be counted as PM Tardy.
  •  school between 11:30 and 1:25 he/she will be counted as Absent 1/2 Day-PM
